757 Startup Studios, the regional hub for early-stage founders based in Norfolk, Virginia, is set to welcome 20 new startups to its program. Since its inception in May 2021, the initiative has supported 35 startups, over 70% of which have an under-represented founder as part of their team. These startups have created nearly 100 full-time jobs, hundreds of part-time jobs, and 16 internships while generating and raising millions of dollars in revenue and capital investment. The 20 new additions, ranging from digital insurance marketplace We Insure Things to the Black Systemic Equity Project Inc., will have access to amenities like rent-free tenancy, mentorship, and office hours with subject matter experts. NORFOLK, VA — 757 Startup Studios’ impact in Hampton Roads continues to expand. 757 Startup Studios, the region’s hub for early-stage, growth-oriented founders, will be welcoming 20 new startups. Founders will join a growing community of innovators and creators at the Assembly campus on Tuesday, May 31st. Since its launch in May 2021, 35 startups have participated in the 757 Startup Studios program. To date, over 70 percent of the Startup Studios’ founders have an under-represented founder as part of their team. Furthermore, those startups have created nearly 100 full-time jobs, hundreds of part-time jobs, and 16 internship opportunities. These startups have generated millions of dollars in revenue and raised millions more in capital investment.

According to Hunter Walsh, 757 Startup Studios Program Manager, “757 Startup Studios continues to demonstrate that we fill a vital need in our region by reducing obstacles and barriers that have traditionally hindered startups from growing and scaling.” Innovation and entrepreneurship are diversifying our economy while creating and attracting quality talent and bringing high-paying jobs to our region, added Walsh.
