After years of anticipation, 757 TechNite is finally making its return in 2025—bigger, bolder, and more meaningful than ever.

Presented by JPMorganChase, this signature event will shine a spotlight on the people and organizations powering the future of Hampton Roads through innovation, technology, entrepreneurship, and leadership.

At the heart of the evening will be the presentation of nine awards, each recognizing a different facet of excellence in our region’s innovation ecosystem. Among them are two deeply personal tributes to leaders whose legacies have left a lasting imprint on our community: the Dan Bell Innovative Tech Builder Award and the John “Dubby” Wynne Regional Innovation Champion Award.

Honoring a Community Catalyst: The Dan Bell Innovative Tech Builder Award

Dan Bell was more than just a leader—he was a builder of connections, a mentor to many, and a tireless advocate for innovation in Hampton Roads.

Whether hosting Tech Tuesdays, organizing the BIZWHEEL Expos (now Venture Out), or mentoring emerging founders well into the evening, Dan believed that great things happen when passionate people come together. As Vice Chairman of Innovate Hampton Roads and former Chair of the Hampton Roads Innovation Collaborative, Dan helped unify the region’s entrepreneurial support systems into a collaborative, forward-thinking network.

The Dan Bell Innovative Tech Builder Award honors individuals who embody that same spirit—those who are pushing technology forward not for headlines, but for impact. This award recognizes the innovators, mentors, and connectors building the foundation for what’s next in our tech community.

Celebrating Regional Vision: The John “Dubby” Wynne Innovation Champion Award

John “Dubby” Wynne was a visionary whose influence reached across industries and decades. As the former CEO of Landmark Communications, he helped launch The Weather Channel—an idea many dismissed, but which he turned into a multibillion-dollar success. After retiring from business, Dubby turned his full attention to civic leadership, championing economic development, education, and regional cooperation.

He co-founded GO Virginia and Reinvent Hampton Roads, pushing for long-term strategies to create jobs, attract investment, and prepare the region for the future. Through his mentorship, board leadership, and policy advocacy, he became a true force behind Hampton Roads’ growth and transformation.

The John “Dubby” Wynne Regional Innovation Champion Award celebrates individuals or organizations continuing this legacy—those driving bold, collaborative progress that lifts our entire region.
