As Chair of the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, Mayor Oliver Coppard works with the leaders of Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham, and Sheffield to drive regional growth through economic development, regeneration, transport, skills, and innovation. His South Yorkshire Growth Plan 2035 targets business investment, infrastructure, and R&D to expand “tradeable jobs” and boost productivity.
In June 2024, Mayor Coppard and the Hampton Roads Alliance signed an MOU to promote knowledge exchange and collaborative economic initiatives.
