As a public speaker, one of the most important things you can do is to discover who your audience is. This may seem like a simple task, but it’s actually quite complex. Depending on the situation, your audience could be made up of business people, stay-at-home moms, or teenagers.
Each audience has different needs and expectations, so it’s important to tailor your message accordingly. The best way to do this is to create a persona for each audience type. By understanding the demographics, interests, and needs of each audience, you’ll be able to deliver a speech that resonates with them on a personal level. In turn, this will make you a more effective public speaker overall.
During this discussion, we will be diving into the following topics:
- Get started as a speaker/author
- How to find and target your audience
