SUMMARY:Information Sharing in Supply Chains and Offshore Wind
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a discussion on information sharing in supply chains and offshore wind.\n\n\nThe complexity of offshore wind projects requires the close coordination of many participants. They each serve particular needs and approach their mission with the unique tools of their trade. Specialization\, however\, can encumber collaboration when information systems cannot easily share information\, and slow and inaccurate data can create costly inefficiencies and slow down supply chains. Event participation options include both online and limited seating in person. The link to the online event will be shared with participants via their emails provided by April 6\, 2022. \nPresenter: Kevin Speers \nKevin Speers is the CEO and Co-founder of Splice\, a software company that enables the automation and integration of logistics processes. Its eponymous platform drives efficiency and scalability by sharing data between otherwise incompatible systems and applications. \nKevin has over 20 years of experience in marketing and strategy. He led communications and marketing departments at global container shipping companies Maersk and CMA CGM. He also guided marketing\, public relations\, and IT at T. Parker Host\, a ship agency and marine terminal operator. Kevin started the logistics practice at Avascent\, a management consultancy in Washington\, DC\, and for corporations and financial investors\, he has produced a broad portfolio of consulting solutions including investment\, M&A\, market-entry\, and technology assessments. He began his career in finance at Procter and Gamble. \n Kevin holds a master’s degree in international business from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree from Miami University (Ohio). He has studied in Paris and lived in Germany\, and outside of work\, you can find him biking\, kayaking or hiking with his family and friends.

SUMMARY:Information Sharing in Supply Chains
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a discussion on information sharing in supply chains and offshore wind.\n\n\nThe complexity of offshore wind projects requires the close coordination of many participants. They each serve particular needs and approach their mission with the unique tools of their trade. Specialization\, however\, can encumber collaboration when information systems cannot easily share information\, and slow and inaccurate data can create costly inefficiencies and slow down supply chains. He also guided marketing\, public relations and IT at T. Parker Host\, a ship agency and marine terminal operator. Kevin started the logistics practice at Avascent\, a management consultancy in Washington\, DC\, and for corporations and financial investors\, he has produced a broad portfolio of consulting solutions including investment\, M&A\, market entry\, and technology assessments.

SUMMARY:Be Your Own Boss with John M. Hall\, Jr.
DESCRIPTION:BYOB is focused on providing insights and expertise from entrepreneurs who have chosen to Be Their Own Boss. These events will highlight the entrepreneurs and innovators who decided to start their own business ventures. These events will provide an interesting discussion about the journey to success and how to overcome the trials and tribulations of being an entrepreneur.\nJohn Hall\, Jr.\, first purchased the Chesapeake-based sign company on September 11\, 2006 when he was only 19 years old. At the time\, the company was known by Action Graphics & Signs\, Inc. With high expectations and an iron will\, John took the business from over $30\,000 of debt and pulled it completely out of the hole to return to profitability—all in only the first year of his ownership.\nIn Hampton Roads in 2008\, no other businesses had taken over the niche of vehicle wraps\, so it was clear he needed to make changes to grow this brand. John quickly established the company as the vehicle wrap shop of the area and began a marketing campaign targeted at businesses that needed to wrap their fleet vehicles. John decided on the easy-to-remember name of AGWraps\, using the initials from the company’s actual name Action Graphics. The main purpose of this new name was to show his new focus on vehicle wraps.\nSeveral networking successes led John to begin doing business with commerce giants of Southeastern Virginia\, including Atlantic Heating & Cooling\, TFC Recycling\, the Dragas Companies\, Hampton Roads Transit\, and The PETA Foundation. These clients turned into opportunities for John\, and they continued purchasing more and more products from AGWraps\, and not just wraps and signs.\nOnce AGWraps was established as the #1 vehicle wrap and graphics shop in Hampton Roads\, John turned his attention on the next goal for the company—growing to a larger reach of the local area. In early 2017\, AGWraps opened its second location in Virginia Beach Town Center. Not only was John conquering vehicle wraps and signage in Hampton Roads\, but he was reaching across the entire country with clients in multiple states\, many of them even shipping vehicles out of Chesapeake once AGWraps had wrapped them. John’s hard work could be seen as far away as California\, covering coast-to-coast of the country and more than a quarter of the states in between.\nAs AGWraps continued to grow more and more\, John turned his sights elsewhere to maximize the building momentum. In 2018\, he purchased Archbell Signs\, Inc. in Norfolk. This expansion allowed both AGWraps and Archbell to function together as sister companies\, sharing clients and information while operating as experts in their fields. AGWraps took on all wraps and similar graphics while Archbell focused solely on signage\, allowing both to handle more work and produce better quality. The cooperation between the two companies has strengthened and widened John’s footprint in Hampton Roads.\nLearn More: https://agwraps.com/\nWatch LIVE: https://bit.ly/3bDLYzo

These events will highlight the entrepreneurs and innovators who decided to start their own business ventures. These events will provide an interesting discussion about the journey to success and how to overcome the trials and tribulations of being an entrepreneur.\nBryan Daniels is a native and resident of Virginia Beach and he is married with two children. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 2002 with a degree in Information Technology. After working 15+ years in the health insurance industry\, Bryan left the corporate world to pursue dreams of running his own business. Initially\, he became a Certified Personal Trainer and helped clients achieve their fitness goals. He also used his years of experience as a club DJ to start a mobile DJ service. Both businesses took a backseat when a third company\, born from a homebrewing hobby\, was created. Bryan had an idea to dry out and reuse the grain from the beer-making process for a healthy snack. He began making granola bars from the spent grain\, then started working with local breweries to repurpose their grains. All Good Granola started officially selling at farmers’ markets in September 2019.\nLearn More: https://www.allgoodgranolabars.com/\nWatch LIVE: https://bit.ly/3bDLYzo
