The next event coming up will be: \nSession 16: Regional Fiber Ring \nApril 19\, 2022 – 12-1:00p EST \nLed by Steven DeBerry\, Executive Director\, Southside Network Authority \nEnhancing the 757’s appeal as a place to live\, learn\, and do business. \nThe SNA was created in November 2019 by the five Virginia cities of Chesapeake\, Norfolk\, Portsmouth\, Suffolk\, and Virginia Beach. Phase I of this project includes building out a 119-mile fiber ring that will connect the 5 Southside Virginia cities of Chesapeake\, Norfolk\, Portsmouth\, Suffolk\, and Virginia Beach.  \nDuring the SNA Board Meeting held on November 12\, 2021\, the Board adopted two resolutions.   \n•	Resolution 2021-01 directed the SNA Executive Director (ED) to enter the Detail Phase of negotiations regarding a possible public-private partnership to operate and market the SNA Regional Connectivity Ring.   \n•	Resolution 2021-02 directed the SNA ED to award a construction and maintenance contract to build the fiber ring upon securing necessary funding. DESCRIPTION:Tieing the Operational Navy to the Science and Technology capabilities for the Navy and Marine Corps.\n\n\nThe Mid-Atlantic Tech Bridge (MATB) is led by four Hampton Roads-based naval commands.\n \n1.	The Military Director is CDR Donald “Andy” Sinitiere\, who is the Executive Officer at the Center for Security Forces.\n \n2.	The Civilian Director is Gerrold Walker from the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC LANT)\, Hampton Roads detachment.\n \n3.	Dr. Julie Stark is the lead from Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Carderock\, Norfolk detachment.\n \n4.	Roy Weisert is the lead from Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Dahlgren\, Dam Neck activity.\n \nThe MATB has multiple partners with Partnership Intermediary Agreements (PIAs) in the Hampton Roads area and has an off-base presence within the Assembly building in downtown Norfolk\, VA. The MATB also leverages its robust regional technology ecosystem to facilitate technology solutions of interest to the Department of the Navy (DON).\n \nCome learn more about what the MATB is doing along with other local resources to bring your technologies and innovations to market.  You’ll learn about the Innovation Commercialization Assistance Program  (ICAP) and the Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) Program.   757 Collab will discuss their role within the startup community and the Tech Talk will end with an Industry success story that utilized many of these resources\, Colvin Run.
