SUMMARY:Information Sharing in Supply Chains and Offshore Wind
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a discussion on information sharing in supply chains and offshore wind.\n\n\nThe complexity of offshore wind projects requires the close coordination of many participants. They each serve particular needs and approach their mission with the unique tools of their trade. Specialization\, however\, can encumber collaboration when information systems cannot easily share information\, and slow and inaccurate data can create costly inefficiencies and slow down supply chains. Event participation options include both online and limited seating in person. The link to the online event will be shared with participants via their emails provided by April 6\, 2022. \nPresenter: Kevin Speers \nKevin Speers is the CEO and Co-founder of Splice\, a software company that enables the automation and integration of logistics processes. Its eponymous platform drives efficiency and scalability by sharing data between otherwise incompatible systems and applications. \nKevin has over 20 years of experience in marketing and strategy. He led communications and marketing departments at global container shipping companies Maersk and CMA CGM. He also guided marketing\, public relations\, and IT at T. Parker Host\, a ship agency and marine terminal operator. Kevin started the logistics practice at Avascent\, a management consultancy in Washington\, DC\, and for corporations and financial investors\, he has produced a broad portfolio of consulting solutions including investment\, M&A\, market-entry\, and technology assessments. He began his career in finance at Procter and Gamble. \n Kevin holds a master’s degree in international business from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree from Miami University (Ohio). He has studied in Paris and lived in Germany\, and outside of work\, you can find him biking\, kayaking or hiking with his family and friends.

SUMMARY:Innovation Series: Emissions Reduction
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a discussion on emissions reduction.\n\n\nWith offshore wind development accelerating\, emissions management and reduction has become a top concern for vessel operators. Tracking emissions across a single fleet is difficult and across multiple tiers of subcontractors is near impossible. Jacob Ruytenbeek\, founder of SailPlan\, will speak about the issues associated with fleet emissions monitoring and the challenge of optimizing operations to mitigate impacts on business and the environment. \n \nPresenter: Jacob Ruytenbeek\, Founder & CEO of SailPlan \nJacob is the Founder & CEO of SailPlan. Before founding SailPlan\, Jacob worked alongside the emerging tech side of the transportation & defense community at the US Air Force (civilian)\, Raytheon\, and AirMap. Jacob is an active member of the Air Traffic Control Association’s Blue Skies Initiative and a past Co-Chair of the US Chamber of Commerce Chamber Technology Engagement Center (C_TEC).

SUMMARY:Innovation Series: WindSite Demo
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a demonstration of the VA WindSite tool.\n\n\nWindSite was created to help developers\, government\, and military users select\, evaluate\, and develop onshore and offshore wind energy projects. It helps solve such problems as mitigating the impact of siting decisions on military operations\, training\, and readiness\, along with providing additional clarity around the often complex set of regulations and requirements associated with renewable wind energy development.
