Lighthouse Labs 10th Cohort kicked off this Spring, welcoming a diverse selection of 10 teams chosen from over 200 applicants. This is the largest and most varied group to date, with teams hailing from seven different states and a number of industries, including retail, health & wellness, big data, project management, construction, SilverTech, and EdTech. The announcement of this milestone cohort coincides with a full rebranding effort for Lighthouse Labs, featuring a new logo and website that better reflect the company’s essence of acceleration, experimentation, and community. This exciting development will be celebrated at a virtual open house on March 18th, where the community will have the chance to welcome the new teams.

Lighthouse Labs 10th Cohort

Lighthouse welcomed 10 teams to their milestone 10th Cohort for the Spring (starting March 15th). The teams competed for the 10 slots from more than 200 applicants and represent a diverse set of industries, geographic locations, and stage of the company.

Diverse and Largest Cohort

This is Lighthouse Labs largest and most diverse cohort ever; 6 companies are led by female founders, 5 by Black founders, and 9 by BIPOC founders. The teams are from 7 states (4 from the Richmond area) with founders hailing from Alabama, California, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia (4), and Washington, D.C. The fearless founders are innovating across industries – tackling retail, health & wellness, big data, project management, construction, SilverTech, and EdTech.

Rebranding Announcement

The announcement also coincides with a full rebrand (including a new logo and website) the team had been working on for the better part of 6 months.

New Branding Approach

It’s Lighthouse Lab’s desire that the dynamic brand reflects the essence of acceleration: experimentation, iteration, and community. The logo and the accompanying brand system were designed to evoke Lighthouse Labs’ role as a laboratory – a place to build, test, and create. Simple lines, elementary shapes, and primary colors have replaced more complex illustrations and serve as the building blocks of their new brand.
